You’ve always wanted to save.  But you’ve been procrastinating due to a lot of excuses.  In order to help you procrastinate later when it comes to saving money,  I’ve come up with a list for you to think about why it is an absolute must for you to save. Check it out below:

1. Saving money for your retirement.   Whether you like it or not,  you’ll reach retirement age.  And you don’t want to be a burden to your  family once that time of your life comes.  Start saving now while you are still in your productive years.    You definitely don’t  want to retire broke.

2. Saving money for that dream business. You’re pretty damn tired of being a machine operator, domestic  helper or whatever type of  profession you’re in.  Certainly, your salary has been able help you and  your family acquire a lifestyle, but you are at that point in your overseas career which you no longer want to work for somebody else.  That now, you want to work for you. So start saving money for that  dream business is the way to go.

3. Saving money for your emergency fund.  Personal emergencies happen.  What if you happen to have an argument with your boss and he fires you, breaching your  employment contract.  What if there is civil unrest in your host country  and all immigrants are advised to travel home? Without an emergency fund,  you’ll certainly end up going home empty-handed.

      4. Saving money to spend more time with your family.  You hate the idea of leaving your kids behind because you have to work overseas.  And for years.  You want to spend more  time with your kids,  watch them grow up, or attend PTA meetings for them.  You want to do a whole bunch of those things for them and don’t wanna be just a parent they see on Skype anymore.  Once you’re able to save enough for that, you’re good to go.

      5. Saving money for your continued education or personal development.  If you quit school because you had to work overseas to support your family and still dream to go to college, then save up for that.  If  you’re an OFW mom who’s been dreaming of learning to play the piano, then save up for piano lessons if you can’t afford it now.  Never stop learning.  If you learn, you grow and if you grow, you become a  better person.
